Everyone knows a Mustang is capable in a straight line, but when it comes to a track and corners the “antiquated” live axle would surely fall short against the Bavarian’s top track car, the M3.
Or would it?

A recent Motor Trend article compares the two on the BMW’s home turf of twists and turns and the new 5.0 Mustang comes in less than a TENTH of a second slower than the M3.

Yes you read that correctly… it takes more time for a human to blink their eye than the difference between these two cars.

And with the new 5.0 coming in under 26k LESS than the M3′s starting price point I think it’s fairly clear who the winner is here!

So next time one of these guys pulls up next to you in his turned up collar and sunglasses resting atop his bleached hair just know that he paid more than 20 grand more for a car that’s less than an eyeblink faster than your little Mustang

MILWAUKEE – NASCAR team owner Jack Roush was in serious but stable condition after walking away from a plane crash in Wisconsin on Tuesday night.

“There are injuries. Possible surgery,” Roush Fenway Racing president Geoff Smith said in a text message to The Associated Press. “But he walked out of the plane.”

Smith confirmed that the plane belonged to Roush, and he was flying it. Smith said Roush’s injuries include facial lacerations.

Roush, an aviation buff, was attending the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis., this week.

In a statement on the EAA Web site, officials said a Beechcraft Premier business jet registered to Roush Fenway Racing, LLC was involved in a landing accident at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. CDT, the statement said.

According to the EAA, the National Transportation Safety Board and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that two occupants on board were Roush and Brenda Strickland of Plymouth, Mich.

“Each exited the aircraft following the accident,” the statement said. “Both were transported to local hospitals, with Roush in serious but stable condition and Strickland with non-life threatening injuries. The NTSB is leading the investigation into the accident.”

It is the second close call for Roush, who crashed a plane into a pond in Alabama in 2002 and was rescued by an ex-Marine who lived nearby. Roush continued flying after that accident.

Roush owns several aircraft, including a World War II-vintage P-51 Mustang.

WHY DAMMIT!

I mean do they REALLY think Bing is going to give them a run for their money?

Remember a few months ago when they changed the google search page to have “themes?”

Yeah THAT was a great idea… awesome.

I can only hope that enough people complain AGAIN so they change the image search back to the original search that wasn’t so damn CUTE but actually WORKED!

Now I have to hover over a picture to see the damn resolution… WHY Google WHY??

And then when I DO find one after several hovering sessions… and I click on it… I’m presented with a cute little pop-up type image that hovers over the damn original page.

Google… I guess you don’t know this. I’m shocked actually… but here’s the reason people like to use Google.

It’s not because the search results are far superior, although they often are.

It’s not because the graphic on the homepage is stellar, although when you do the contests and have unique “Google” graphics for special occasions it IS neat.

It’s BECAUSE… now listen carefully… it’s EASY! It’s SIMPLE! There’s not a million ads going on next to the damn search bar. THAT is why people use Google.

People like EASY… people like SIMPLE!

QUIT COMPLICATING THINGS THAT ALREADY WORK!

Everyone who liked the image search feature the way it was before. (Which is likely everyone on the planet)

I’m not an automotive designer so logistically I don’t know what is involved with replacing/modifying the existing bumper.

Maybe there are technical limiting factors that do not allow them to change the bumper in any significant way.

BUT if they CAN do something of a replacement bumper I mocked up something in Photoshop.

I don’t know about you guys that don’t like the 2010 and new rears (I don’t care for them) but if they looked like my mock up I’d probably be dying to buy one.

I’ve been living in Houston for the past few years and now I’m off to the state capitol!

I have no idea what Austin is like other than the couple days I spent there during my job interview.

So if anyone has suggestions for good Mustang shops, or places to hang out please let me know!

I mean I KNOW the ass of these cars is bad but trying to cover it up with a HUGE wing and som gray piping aint gonna get it done.

I’m no car builder but it seems like it wouldn’t be THAT difficult to design a rear bumper for this car that deletes that retarded black plastic cowling on the bottom.

Why is this so difficult?????

Oh well… I’ll keep waiting I suppose.

As in the past Saleen will be offering two versions of the SMS (previously Saleen) one that will basically sport some exterior mods and interior mods and a supercharged version that will, according to an SMS press release, produce 535 hp and 450 ft-lb of torque with the blower.

Of course the NA version will come with the 440hp and 400 ft-lb of torque due to Ford’s new 5.0 liter power plant, but you’d get that with a regular GT as well.

Of note, both SMS models come standard with new SMS performance suspension components. The package will include S4 Specific Rate Front and Rear Springs, S4 Front Struts, S4 Rear Shocks, S4 Front and Rear Sway Bars with High Durometer Pivot Bushings and the all-new SMS unique S4 Watts Link rear suspension.

A Watts Link will likely be a welcome feature for many high performance fans, although I’d like to see how much the package will cost before I get too excited.
